Best Selling Christmas Album By Female Artist Of All Time

   Today TheDivaJuice will list down The Best Selling Christmas Album By Female Artist Of All Time. Eventhough there were lot of NEW Divas release their own respective Christmas albums. None of them can match the success of Christmas albums released by our senior DIVAS back in the 90's. 

It is hard to sell a Christmas album I would say.. Lot of female artist have released their own holiday albums. But very few of them manage to sell over a million units. It is because most of the songs are cover version and to sell more than a million copies is already considered as success. Whitney did released a Christmas album, but the album not even reach Gold certification. Told ya it is hard....


But some singers manage to turn this minimal success into huge success by releasing their own original material and some of them even manage to turn their original song into a classic song.

• Jackie Evancho - O Holy Night (2010) / US sales: 1,100,000 units sold.

OK i know she is TOO young..But hey she is a Little DIVA by the way. Anyway,  this is her debut album which made her The Youngest Solo Artist to go Platinum..Well done Jackie..

• Christina Aguilera - My Kind Of Christmas (2000) / Worldwide: 2,000,000 units sold.

This album was released soon after her debut album " Christina Aguilera". This album went Platinum in USA for shipment of one million units. This album also made headline when Kelly Osbourne criticize this album as sucks due to Christina's over singing technique.

• Susan Boyle - The Gift (2010) / Worldwide: 4,300,000 units worldwide

The album became Susan second No: 1 album in USA and UK. Most of the songs in this album are cover version.

• Celine Dion - These Are Special Times (1998) / Worldwide: 12,000,000 units sold

This album made Celine the first female artist to surpass 5 million sales mark according to Nielsen Soundscan. This album also One Of The Biggest Selling Christmas Album Of All Time. Furthermore, These Are Special Times helps Celine to score her 4th number ONE hits in USA with a song called I'm Your Angel.

• Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas (1994) / Worldwide: 15,000,000 units sold

This album is indeed The Best Selling Christmas Album By Female Artist Of All TIME..no one can deny that. Her first single from this album, All I Want For Christmas Is You is a smash HIT and considered as Classic. The song keeps making appearances on charts on every Christmas season every YEAR. In addition the album also the Second Biggest Selling Album by Non- Asian Artist in Japan (2.5 million units sold). Furthermore, All I Want For Christmas Is You is named as The Biggest Selling Holiday Digital Songs EVER and also named as The Most Popular Christmas song EVER..
